'Over-Loaded' Performers

If we are not careful, we may be over-loading further another project to our good people. Thus their focus are again being diluted/diversified further, in the end, things would be just too heavy for them to carry.

However, if there are too many customer complaints /quality issues, we could not afford to let them drop everything and focus on ONE banner (as discussed in http://qualityproductivity.blogspot.com/, Tips No.2.). Hence, we should brainstorm where should we start planting the new and simple improvement seeds for now..? (read Tips No.2 again in the mentioned blogspot)

Advice:

Start 're-adjusting our sails' to benefit from all the 'strong winds' that we have. How about trusting our 'lower level' (or we should call them the 'most important level') - i.e. Supervisors and below (down to operators) and load them with all the simple tools and methods, so that they can become your complete improvement engine (the eyes, ears & nose - detecting & improving) company-wide.

According to Dr Deming (can't remember the exact words but the message was indeed very clear):

"Everyone is doing their best. But without proper tools and methods (proper knowledge), they are doing it wrong and yet working so hard at it. But never doubt that they are always doing their best !"

If we can heed his message above and start setting the right 'stage' for everyone, then your products and services will have the Quality desired by the World.

Weakest Link

If you are MUCH FASTER and ANALYTICAL amidst slow-paced populated department,

And if you are MORE OBJECTIVE than your surroundings that always like to go in circles,

And if you uphold the principle of DOING THE RIGHT THING whereas others are stuck with their old paradigm and routine,

Then know that you can be the WEAKEST LINK in that department. This is because others did not share your views and values, hence will not regard you as their team member. Thus, without the teamwork, your effort will be fruitless.

Advice:
Always try to acquire and maintain good values no matter what. It may be difficult initially but eventually, you will become a very effective person.
